For the most part these conditions are the result of stress. Stress can cause all sorts of conditions from bruxism to back and neck pain. But for your oral health you have to take steps to reduce the amount of stress you have and if you can't reduce it, you should take steps to handle it differently.
Method Number 1
Many people find that writing, such as keeping a journal or diary, is helpful to relieve stress. Frequently our inability to relieve stress is because we internalize it and don't have a way to decompress ourselves. Keeping a journal gives you the ability to "yell" at a piece of paper and get your frustration out. It can also help you to devise a plan to reduce the stress.
Method Number 2
The next method is to find someone non-judgmental to talk to. This could be a friend, counselor, or clergy person. Whoever it is, make sure it's someone you trust to keep your talks to themselves. If you can't trust the person to respect your privacy it will only increase your stress. Being able to verbalize your problems can put them into a different perspective and show you different ways to handle the problem.
Method Number 3
Exercise is a great way to reduce stress. It doesn't matter what method of exercise you choose, the result will be the same. Exercise releases endorphins into your system which are chemicals your body produces to help you feel good. As an added bonus, it makes you healthier!
