![]() It is best to have us take a peek at what is going on so that we can make sure that the issue gets treated when it becomes necessary. What Brown Spots May MeanSome brown spots are nothing more than dental stains. For those that consume large amounts of coffee or smoke, brown stains are common. We can help to whiten and clean your teeth during your visits to our office.Other brown spots are what we commonly call pit and fissure stains. These are minor stains that simply make a home in the tiny crevices in your teeth. They typically do not need anything done to them other than monitoring for any changes. If we notice that they are getting bigger or deeper, we may need to fill it to prevent it from turning into tooth decay. Then there are some brown spots on your teeth that signal tooth decay. These are holes in your teeth that will require filling to keep your tooth healthy. What we need to do is remove the decay and replace what was removed with a filling. Then, your tooth can remain strong and you can continue to use it like normal. If you notice any type of brown spots on your teeth, then give our office a call. We will have you come in for an examination, and likely a cleaning at the same time. Then, we will talk with you about whatever is going on and figure out a way to treat it! |
