Toothbrushes are an important part of your dental hygiene routine. In order to have a cleaner, brighter, fresher mouth, the use of a toothbrush is a must. However, did you know? You should replace your toothbrush throughout the year for the best results. We also recommend that you use a toothpaste with fluoride in it for stronger, healthier teeth and gums. Children should learn to brush their teeth even before they have them, because great oral hygiene habits start at a young age. Replacing Your Toothbrush - When, Why, How?Who knew that the toothbrush had to be replaced often in order to reduce the number of bacteria that you're putting back into your mouth?Toothbrushes should be replaced every 3 to 4 months. However, if you have had any sort of contagious illness, then replacing the toothbrush sooner with a new one is recommended. The toothbrush can hold onto those germs that got you sick in the first place. If you are unsure of how long you have had the toothbrush for or if the bristles on the ends of the brush are frayed, then it is time to replace the brush. Having a cleaner toothbrush is good for everyone. Remember, you should never share a toothbrush with someone because of the germs that are shared when you do so. You want to always keep it clean and covers can cause bacteria to multiply when they are put on them. Air drying is the best for toothbrushes so that this is something that doesn't happen.
