We follow the American Dental Association’s Update to Office Procedures During COVID-19 in regard to safe office procedures, workplace hazards, and making decisions for best office practices. We stay informed on recent information given to dentists in this regard, as well as keeping up to date with any changes recommended by the CDC.  Everyone wants whiter teeth, and we can help you with that. Yellowing teeth is unavoidable. Whether it's due to age or the foods we eat, it's a struggle to retain white teeth for long periods of time. While there are over-the-counter methods to whiten your teeth, those methods can cause harm to your teeth. Plus, some are just plain ineffective. Our office does safe and effective teeth whitening so you don't need to worry about causing permanent damage to your teeth. It Does Not Work For Everyone Contrary to belief, teeth whitening doesn't work on all types of teeth. This is why it's important to talk to us before trying to whiten your teeth. Some teeth don't work well with certain chemicals used to whiten teeth. Also, people who have veneers, crowns, or fillings may not be suitable candidates depending on their location. In our office, we will determine if you are a good candidate for teeth whitening and which method will work best for you. In general, most people can benefit from teeth bleaching. Teeth bleaching is a simple procedure that usually only takes one visit to complete. Protection Is A Must During a teeth bleaching, we will cover your gums with a protective layer of gel or a rubber shielding. Bleach can be painful to gums so this step is necessary. Next, we will set up a device to hold your mouth open during the procedure. Then, we will apply a small amount of bleaching gel to your teeth and let the gel sit on your teeth for a small amount of time. Finally, we remove the gel from your teeth. Your teeth will be visibly whiter before you came in, however, they may be a little sensitive. Sensitivity should go away in a few hours to a day.
