Welcome! We are open, looking forward to seeing returning patients, accepting new patients, and operating under normal business hours! The Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDS) is still not recommending any type of closures or modification in hours. We will continue to monitor information coming from both the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and AZDHS and keep you apprised of any changes or updates. We will stay on top of this information and bring it to you as soon as possible through our website, email, and social media.

As we continue to navigate through the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, our dentists and dental team want to assure you that we are continuing to do our best to make sure it a priority that we are following the latest health and safety guidelines from the CDC, specifically as they relate to the dental industry. We value keeping our patients and staff members safe and comfortable.

As part of our daily standard health and safety protocols, our office follows ‘Universal Precautions’ in order to protect our patients and our staff. These are precautions we have always taken, and are not new. By taking ‘universal precautions’ means we always assume that anyone could potentially be carrying a contagious and dangerous disease. We therefore follow strict guidelines to prevent the transmission of any potential disease, be it COVID-19 (Coronavirus), hepatitis, tuberculosis, HIV, or any other disease. This has been a standard of care we follow, per the CDC, in regard to blood borne pathogens.

These measures include:
• strict hand washing protocols

• use of (single use) disposable protective equipment and barriers

• thorough disinfection of exposed or potentially exposed surfaces after every patient visit

• disinfection and high-heat steam sterilization of instruments and routine monitoring of sterilization verification

• continued education on infection control

Specific to COVID-19 (Coronavirus) we have added in additional precautionary and cleaning measures including:
• disinfecting common surface areas every 30 minutes

• providing hand sanitizer in common areas

• screening everyone who enters our offices based on CDC recommendations

• offering preprocedural mouth rinse

As state and national health and safety regulations change and evolve during these times, Surprise Smiles is dedicated to monitoring and evaluating our dental practice and office space for any potential risks as we serve our patients and community. We strive to maintain an approach to our dentistry services that is both safe and beneficial to everyone we serve.

We strive to provide a safe, healthy, comfortable, and relaxed environment for everyone that comes into our dental office. We follow the American Dental Association’s Update to Office Procedures During COVID-19 in regard to safe office procedures, workplace hazards, and making decisions for best office practices. We stay informed on recent information given to dentists in this regard, as well as keeping up to date with any changes recommended by the CDC.

Keeping up on the latest in dental technology is an important part of saving our patients time and money. When we adopt the latest in proven dental technology, our goal is to give you a higher quality, more comprehensive, and less time consuming treatments.

Air Abrasion

Worried about visiting the dentist. Many people who admit to avoiding going to their dentist do so because they can’t stand the sounds of the dental equipment. One of the most hated of sounds in a dental office is that of the drill. We have an alternative to the dental drill in our air abrasion unit. Using this technology, we can remove decay and imperfections from your teeth in much the same way a pressure washer washes the sidewalk.

Cone Beam CT 3D Scan

Have you ever had to have an impression, or mold, taken of your mouth? If you have you probably weren’t terribly comfortable during the procedure. Taking an impression involves filling your mouth with a thick substance that hardens slowly over a period of several minutes. With the Cone Beam CT scanner we are able to take a digital impression of your mouth that requires no uncomfortable substances.

Dental Laser

We can now use lasers to treat both soft and hard tissues within your mouth. Dental lasers offer a greatly reduce recovery time to many procedures and is considered to be much less invasive than other treatment options. Dental lasers have been shown to result in less sutures, and cleaner procedures.

Digital Impressions

Digital impressions give us the layout of your mouth and allows us to develop treatment plans for everything from nightguards to dental implants. We can even send digital copies of your impressions to other specialists in the case that we refer you to one of our trusted partners. Digital impressions save time, money, and hassle.

Digital X-rays

Traditional X-rays took a decent amount of time to develop and would occasionally need to be re-taken due to error. Today we have the benefit of a digital X-ray system that allows us to develop your X-rays within seconds. Your X-rays are viewable to you, our patient, immediately on a computer monitor in beautiful high definition.

Intraoral Camera

Intraoral cameras allow us to show our patients exactly what is going on inside their mouth in real time. That’s right, we can show you what issues are taking place even in those hard-to-reach areas using our intraoral camera.

Same Day Crowns

If you have ever had a crown placed you know that the typical process takes at least a few weeks to complete. Sometimes it can take a month or two for you to have your finalized crown placed. We now offer same day crowns that take only a few hours to accomplish.

Ultrasonic Scaler

Using the power of ultrasonic vibrations we are now able to clean your teeth without the use of scraping metal instruments. Ultrasonic scalers offer our patients a deeper clean that lasts longer than traditional cleaning methods.
